_A moderate 5 mile hike to camp will be broken up into segments and assisted by a guide and our team of porters. We will be spending one evening camped in the mountains. We will have a late afternoon yoga class in the mountains, on rocks, before dinner. Extra activities include watching the rock stove being constructed, fishing and daydreaming.

_Camp will be set for one evening and we will begin building our stove. Dinner will be prepared on rocks and served in courses.

Day 3/ May 27 – break camp

Smoke, sticks and stones

There is a certain flavor that only be attained by preparing food over the open fire and directly on hot rocks. Just as each rock is unique, each meal will have a distinctive flavor to it. Slowly smoking potatoes for hours, roasted veggies caramelized on granite, driftwood baked fish from the creek and in the morning a pour over coffee; these are some of the most magical moment that can happen when we gather to cook on rocks.

Mari’s yoga is for everyone, beginner or advanced, women and men alike!

You are encouraged to practice without a mat, straight on the ‘flat’ big rock, it works! Not only does direct contact with the earth allow for more grounding, but slight unevenness will make you more aware of the position of your body and may add an extra element to focus on besides your breath.

After the hike we will stretch our body and release tension that can come with walking for a few hours with a backpack on. With movement and focus on breathing we will arrive in this wild mountainous space. The closeness to the elements supports this greatly.

In the morning we will gently warm the body up as we greet the sun. We will do breathing exercises and create some heat with a sequence of poses. While encouraging her students to touch up on their personal limits, Mari always reminds to keep in mind we are working with the body and breath, not against it.

Meet the team.

Guide, Chef & Photographer

Truk Jantz is the founder of Conscious Course Expeditions. He is passionate about food, community, nature, and photography. His relentless search for good food and techniques of preparation and cultivation have taken him to many kitchens, gardens, and the wild. His hope is to bring people closer to the food we eat and inspire others to source it more consciously.

Yoga Workshop Teacher

Maricella is a world traveler and is passionate about health. To her, yoga is a simple, calming, non-dogmatic practice as well as a tool to cultivate balance within oneself. She enjoys yoga in its raw authentic way and chooses to teach a simple, grounding yoga that allows you to arrive in your body and leaves you feeling light and beautiful.

Kristen & Will

The Fog behind the Dog

Kristen and Will are the farmers of Fogdog farm. They are passionate about growing food for their community and you can taste it in their produce. They are doing some cool things out there including experimenting with ``no till`` cultivation. We are thrilled to have these two along with us in the mountains after a tour and meal at their farm.

Brew Master

Stephen prepares the best cup of coffee we have ever tasted; straight up! He owns a small shop in town where he sells his coffee, small bites and records. He is a father of two and a man of community. We can not wait for Sunday morning coffee in the mountains; it tastes like a dream come true.
